We must apologize to all of you for the obsession we have here at the Bunker on the topic of the Planning Hull, Bob Simmons and how it has effected the board that you... yes you put under your feet this very morning (or the last time you surfed).
We love underdogs, unsung heroes and try to ask questions instead of taking things at face value after all that's when you find out the cool stuff. Although we normally post a cool arty flick of nose-riding or some high octane performance adrenaline thumper of a movie, we are having a grown up week in the office and thought we would fill your minds with a bit of surf culture and a dip of the cap in homage to a master.
There is no doubt at all the Mr Bob Simmons gave more to surfboard design than anyone on the planet. His designs and work influence every board produced today. Enough of me harping on this subject, we will leave it to one who is even more obsessed with the subject and was involved with the highly revered 'Hydroynamica Project'.
