To be honest I am not sure I care because whatever he has been doing must have included surfing as he has just released a short film/ highlight real of himself destroying waves on his backhand.
I have not go so excited about watching someones backhand since the golden Occy Era (Yes I apparently I am that old) . The lad's surfing looks fluid and effortless combined with power and more power. Oh and he charges, some pretty impressive footage of what looks like tiny man paddling into a big wave that can only be JAWS. Enough talk, have a look for yourself.
Yep, even as I re-watch this I find myself wondering if Kai could have been where Medina is had he stuck to his guns. Kai did 2 years on the QS which was hard grind and after realizing that he would get better waves at home then saving money to pay for his own surf trips he quit competitive surfing. Do you know what, I am pleased, this kid has the talent and has nurtured it and kept himself motivated by surfing great waves and boy does he surf them well.
We at the Bunker salute you Kai, please keep making eye wateringly good surf clips to keep us stoked when its flat.
