I am a fan. Many aren't, but I am. Jeremy has had a bad run of things recently, with quite a lot of bad publicity and maybe he just needs a break. You know when you are having a bad day and nothing seems to go right no matter what you do?

Jeremy has been in the news for fighting on the Gold Coast and for, apparently, refusing to sign an autograph for a little boy. More recently however, Jeremy stormed the judges tower in 2014 after a close call on a heat. He verbally assaulted the judges and got very physical in the tower, and for this he received an competition ban and ended up missing the Billabong Pro Tahiti and the US open of Surfing. A six thousand dollar fine was also issued.

Like I said, a bad day that has lasted 2 years.

Now we are all up to speed lets look at what Jeremy has been up to recently. I can tell you. Ripping.

Flores qualified for the Dreamtour in 2007 when he was just 19 years old. Was awarded 'rookie of the year' in the same year. In 2010 he won the prestigious Billabong Pipe masters event. That's a pretty impressive record.

Jeremy has a big heart and that shows, he is under a lot of pressure to perform not only from sponsors Quiksilver but from his home nation of France. He has been touted as the next big thing for a long time now and some may see that as a promise unfulfilled by the boy from Reunion. He started surfing at age 3 and has been on the fast track to success pretty much since then, being channelled and shaped into what he is now. The only thing is, you can't prepare for what happens when the wheels fall off. That's what happened to Jeremy.

So now we are looking at the new Jflo, the improved and more humble boy from Reunion and I tell you what, that boy is looking dangerous.

As I have been writing this article, I have been watching Jeremy win his first round heat in serious 12ft plus surf at the Margret River Pro. In his post heat interview he dedicated the win to 13 year old Elio Canestri who died in a the latest shark attack in Reunion last week.

Like I said, the boy has a big heart, watch this space for some solid performances this year.
