I am not sure that the phrase come-back is really appropriate, but then again I am not sure what else to call it. Jeremy Flores, the most successful European surfer of all time, after nearly dropping off the World Championship Tour in 2014, launched into his 2105 year like he meant to do some damage.

After some controversial heats in 2014 and a six week ban for storming the judges tower at J-Bay, Jeremy found himself in a very tricky position and narrowly missed out on relegation from the big league.

2015 saw him come out swinging, but he did not quite hit the sweet spot until he snatched a 3rd place at massive Cloudbreak. He then went on a surf trip with Wiggolly Dantas and suffered a severe brain injury when he hit his head on the reef, came out of hospital and took down 1st place in Tahiti, surfing against the doctors' advice and with a helmet on.

The boy was back.

So we know all of this, its pretty recent history, right? Well I would like to show you some footage of what Jezza has been up to in the off season. Guess what. He is still back.

We, at Surf Bunker, are appreciators of all the rail and tube time that Jeremy manages to fit onto his surfing and think that the seeded contenders for 2016 need to adjust their rear view mirror and move over.

Jeremy has something to prove to the world and also has the skills to get the job done. It turns out all he needed was some self belief, some determination, oh, and a near death smack to the head.

Someone very wise and bald with a few world titles once said ' It's when the bad stuff happens that you really start to find yourself. That's when the good stuff happens.'
