The Spud is a small wave groveler that delivers exceptional volume in a short and fat package with enough refined elements to allow for uncompromised surfing performance in smaller waves. The Spud combines a high surface area due to the width in the template for lift and planning, deep double concaves for drive, low rocker profile and high volume for flow and glide. Not content with The Spud merely catching heaps of waves, the board will also light up with plenty outline curve between your feet and with rails that are full and low at the midpoint and thinned towards the back. The diamond tail provides multiple pivot points for lots of options when it comes to turns and maneuvers; slashing fin releases off the top, easy foam glides, airs, and full on bashing the lip.
For explosive surfing choose the smallest Spud you dare for your weight and ability. For those who want an easy time, go for a bigger size and enjoy catching waves you didnt think possible on a short board. Either way, the Spud will push your small wave surfing experience to another level.
The Spud comes with the latest FCS11 fin boxes and includes a set of thruster and quad rear fins so you can easily plug in and go surfing. Play with the fin set up that best suits your style and conditions, leave the thrusters in the front and take out the back fin and combine with quad rears for ripping four-fin riding or upgrade to a twin fin for a loose and playful feel. Fin sizes and shapes will depend on rider weight, ability, length of board, and size and state of waves normally surfed. The Spud makes small wave surfing an experience rather than a bore.
