Christmas has come early for me. An independent hand shaper who makes exceptional surfboards called Jeremy Ferrara once made me a surfboard. It is called the Mireille model and I cherish it. I will not get another and I will not lose this one. It is the most surfed board that I own. If my house burnt down the first thing I would worry about (after my wife and kids)  is this board being gone.

The Mireille model is a surfboard that transitions those days when you might imagine there are no waves into days of 'twinkle toe' noseriding bliss. The step deck shape of this board, combined with it's colossal weight, allows it a super easy entry into the smallest, weakest waves. To give you an idea of dims, mine is 9'4" x 24 x 3 3/8, has a Volan glass job and a stringer thicker than my finger. I have had this board for about 7 years. I love this board.

So imagine my happiness when I find out the guys at Ferrara Surfboards have released a little video clip of the Mireille. Now I can share the shape with you. If you are looking for a board to surf small waves, I can't recommend this enough. If you want to find out more shoot me some words.

The most cherrished board of all time.
